Cake

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee

Frosting

  • ½ cup butter
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease baking pan.
  3. Mix dry ingredients.
  4. Whisk wet ingredients.
  5. Combine both mixtures.
  6. Add hot coffee.
  7. Pour into pan.
  8. Bake until toothpick shows moist crumbs.
  9. Prepare frosting.
  10. Frost slightly warm cake.
  11. Cool and serve.
