How to Make Hibachi Chicken at Home
Step 1: Cook the Chicken
Marinate the diced chicken briefly with sesame oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, and ginger. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook until the chicken is golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Mustard Sauce
Whisk together mayo, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and rice vinegar until smooth. Chill until ready to serve this helps the flavors meld.
Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, sauté the vegetables with olive oil and soy sauce until tender-crisp. Remove and set aside.
Step 4: Prepare the Fried Rice
Melt butter in the pan, sauté garlic, then add rice and soy sauce. Push the rice aside, scramble the egg, then mix everything together with green onions.
Step 5: Serve
Plate the fried rice, top with chicken and vegetables, and serve with plenty of mustard sauce on the side.
